Top 3 Restaurants to Dine at for CofC Graduation
Graduation season is just around the corner, and with that comes the looming question of where to dine with your family and friends post ceremony! I myself will be graduating College of Charleston this May, so this was a decision my family and I had to make as well! Here are my top 3 recommendations for a late lunch or dinner to celebrate graduation!
Halls Chophouse
A classic, Charleston staple, you truly cannot go wrong with a meal at Halls. This is what my family and I ultimately decided on for our celebration, as this is our go to spot for all birthday, celebrations, etc. The service here is out of this world. Mr. Tommy and Billy, and the rest of the Halls staff makes you feel so at home and they truly embody the definition of southern hospitality.
I love Halls for big group dinners because all the sides are served family style, the steaks are cooked to perfection, and they always make sure you feel celebrated on your special day. Even if you are not the biggest steak lover, they have an excellent selection of seafood, and even a yummy vegetarian ravioli.
High Cotton
Also owned by the Hall family, High Cotton would be another excellent choice for a graduation celebration! They have one of my favorite espresso martinis in town and their service is also top notch as it is a Halls restaurant.
While still very nice, I would say High Cotton is slightly more casual than Halls, making it a great alternative especially for a late lunch.
Church and Union
Located in the heart of the market, Church and Union is great for larger groups because they have lots of space and room for big tables. As you may guess from the name, Church and Union is located in an old church, so the high ceilings and stained glass windows make it such a cool and unique environment.
The menu is super diverse so there is definitely something for everyone. From steaks and mashed potatoes to homemade house ravioli, their menu has you and your family covered. They also have great and creative cocktails, my favorite being their house spritz with elderberry.
Halls, High Cotton and Church and Union were my family’s top contenders for my graduation celebratory dinner and you truly cannot go wrong with any of them. Reservations are definitely booking up, so make your decisions soon! Congratulations to all my fellow graduates!
